Absorbance, transmission and fluorescence spectra from the resulting sAuNP-PDMS composite films were obtained and compared with that of pure PDMS and the colloidal gold solutions from which the nanoparticles were sourced. Results show that the absorbance and transmission properties of the resulting film are significantly different from its parent materials.
