Description
Summary:Excerpt: The exhibition Snare for Birds: Passages through the Colonial Archive had its first of three iterations at Ang Panublion Museum, in Roxas City, Capiz, on 5–7 August 2023. Afteward, it was mounted at the Alfredo F. Tadiar Library, from 1 September to 15 October, and at the Ateneo Art Gallery, from 16 September to 17 February 2024. Featuring the works of Kiri Dalena, Lizza May David, and Jaclyn Reyes, and curated by Marika Constantino and Iris Ferrer, it works on the theme of colonialism and its afterlives and aims to subvert one’s expectations of archives (e.g., its volume and the materiality of documents and objects, and the silence in such spaces) and to bring archives and the act of archiving to life.
