| Summary: | A sharply converted question among theologians who defend the bodily resurrection of Jesus is the nature of Jesus' risen body. In The Resurrection of the Son of God, N.T. Wright affirms that the risen body of Jesus is 'robustly physical'. This study presents and evaluates the arguments Wright draws for his position (A) from 1 Corinthians 15:35-58; (B) from texts which refer to Paul's conversion/call on the way to Damascus: 1) Paul's own witness (Galatians 1:12. 15-16; 1 Corinthians 9:1; 15:8-11). and 2) the presentation in Acts 19:3-9; 22:6-14; 26:12-19); C) from the witness of the gospel resurrection narratives. The study concludes with a reasonable hypothesis for resolving a question that arises from the evaluation of Wright's position. |
