Description
Summary:This essay seeks to paint a more concrete picture of Joseph Cardinal Bernardin's reframed and ecologically-sensitive consistent ethic of life (CEL). The first part of this essay rebuilds the original foundations of the Bernardin's moral vision in light of the current ecological crisis. The second part identifies and reframes principles from Catholic social teaching that can guide us in living out this ethic; particularly in seeing that the ecological crisis is a pro-life issue." The essay concludes by pointing out how this reframing does not undermine the original CEL. Rather; such a reframing enhances its foundations; principles; and substance."
