Taxonomic survey of avian fauna in Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija.

Birds, class Aves, are warm- blooded egg-laying vertebrate animals covered with feathers and possessing forelimbs modified as wings. This study was conducted so as to see the physical difference of birds for the purpose of classifying them. The study took about a week. In the process, pictures of the birds were taken so that extinct features can be clearly seen. Behavior towards physical condition was observed such as their diurnality or nocturnality. Setting mist nets in different areas and leaving them for about 24 hours achieved collection, identification and classification. Findings revealed that the number of birds captured was quite small. Based on the results from the Trials 1 & 2, the most abundant were the white-breasted swamphen from Rallidae family and shack shrike from the Laniidae family.
