| Summary: | In this study, the proponents designed and developed ‘Impress’, a social
networking website with an online image-editor, where users can share and edit
their pictures with ease. This study aimed to solve several problems pertaining to
todays’ social networking websites and image-editing, such as a steep learningcurve
with professional image-editing softwares, and harder and slower sharing of
the edited image with social networking websites with no integrated image editor.
The proponents developed the said system through the use of existing web scripting
languages such as PHP and javascript. They gathered data by observing existing
social networking websites and image editors. The website, along with the image
editor was tested and evaluated by online by a number of users. The evaluation
results showed that the website and the image editor had effectively solved the
problems stated above with minor room for improvements.
This study is significant for casual users with little to no experience in
image editing, to be able to share and edit their images online with ease. This study
may also be significant to the future researchers as this may be able to server as
their studies to implement or further improve other systems related to this study. |
