The Geographical Information System for Amalfi, The Islands, Crown Asia,
was made and developed to help not only the homeowners but also the visitors,
delivery boys, etc. to locate easily the users’ target place. GIS can be helpful because
the users can actually locate the location needed using the landmarks, routing, and
driving directions provided by the proponents. The system also showed the shortest
path of the directions needed by the users to avoid conflicts.
The proponents started to research on how to make a Geographical
Information System using C# as their programming language and ASP.Net as the
server-side web application framework designed for web development.
In gathering the data such as getting the GIS, related literatures, measurements
of the road dimensions, and coordinates of the locations, the proponents used various
methods to gather the correct values and information.
The proponents used a measuring wheel to identify an accurate measurement
of the roads. The proponents used AutoCAD, a computer-aided design (CAD)
program used for 2-D and 3-D design and drafting, to identify the coordinates of each
location. The proponents also went to the National Library to gather information
about literatures related to the research. The Property Manager of the Amalfi, The
Islands, Crown Asia was also interviewed to gather information such as the map of
Amalfi, and population of the place.
For the system itself, the proponents had their own work assignments; one
person was assigned to do the algorithmic programming and the handling of local
databases while the other one designed the system's gui (graphical user interface) and
supplied the data required for the routing in AspMap such as the dbf, shp and rtn files.
Geographical Information System (GIS) include all the possible shortest way
in order to avoid the time consuming travel confusable directions of the users in
searching a location. The GIS was developed with the used of the Database
Management System, Quantum GIS, AutoCAD, and ASP.Net as the main
programming language for the development of the system.
The Geographical Information System is intended for everyone who is
interested in locating the places in Amalfi, The Islands, Crown Asia. The GIS will be
accessible online only. The results from this GIS will help the users in having
problem in locating the users’ places. The proponents concluded that using the
Geographical Information System for Amalfi, The Islands, Crown Asia will help
everyone who is interested about the place.
The group highly recommends the implementation of the Geographical
Information System in Amalfi, The Islands, Crown Asia. |
