Description
Summary:The study is about developing web-based computer aided instruction for Database Management System 2. Computer aided instruction is a system that help the students understand their lessons through texts, videos and simulations. Their knowledge were assessed through quizzes that are given by the system based on the lesson they took. It produces grades that give students the idea of their performance and encourages them to more. Database Management System 2 is a new approach when talking about databases. It is the integral part of the curriculum in De La Salle University- Dasmariñas. The proponents have seen the necessity of having a web- based computer aided instruction for the subject. The proponents believed that the advancement of technology like the cloud and rich multimedia approach will increase the ability of the students and will make them learn better and faster. The proponents gave the system a new touch like making it compatible for smart phones so that students can study on the palm of their hands and also take the online exam using a mobile phone. The proposed system is not just an ordinary system for it has a goal of changing the view of students when talking about web- based computer aided instruction. The goal of helping the students is the major concern because the system is useless if the students do not learn from Finally, it is designed to help the professors make every topic interesting and always new to the students to avoid poor participation and low results. The proponents achieve their goal by conducting a survey for the proposed system. They will allow the target users to browse and use the proposed system for them to have an idea of how a web- based computer aided instruction works and the features it can offer. During the survey, the proponents have also the chance to evaluate the affectivity of the system through the quiz results. The proposed system lessens the load of professors during discussions because the students will have the capability to have an advance study. Knowing that, students are able to understand the topic better and have a positive result on their performance. Having this view, the proponents are positive that the proposed system uplifts the standard of education with the use of advance technology.
