Thirty-six (36) albino rats were utilized and divided into four groups namely T1 - 5 grams of red chili kidney beans, T2 - 10 red chili kidney beans, T3 - 5 grams white cannellini kidney beans and T4 - 10 grams white cannellini kidney beans. Each treatment group was induced with hypercholesterolemia by feeding with butter-cured pellets for one week. Thereafter, treatments with different dosages of ground kidney beans were orally given to the mice for four weeks. Blood serum analysis was obtained using cholesterol test strip (HomeMed) and Kernel Multi Check Testing Device. Result showed that both Red Chili and White Cannellini kidney beans can significantly reduce blood cholesterol level (p<0.05). Hence, there is no significant difference on various dosages of Red Chili and White Cannellini kidney beans.
