| Summary: | This project is a continuation of Part one and its main objective is to assess the financial sector reforms and liberalization of the ASEAN 10+5 economies from 1993 to 2004.At the beginning of this report, simulations were conducted to investigate relative positions of reform and liberalization of those financial sectors upon improving their weakest areas. Subsequently, four main areas of the financial sector of each economy would be looked into and they are namely; efforts dedicated to restructuring banks and non-bank financial institutions, developing financial markets, strengthening their central bank regulation and supervision and developing and implementing corporate governance practices. |
