Summary:In this paper, based on existing load test literature of super-long pile groups, a vertical displacement calculating approach for super-long pile groups was presented, in which the nonlinear relation between the reaction force and the displacement of tension piles was simulated by the generalized load transfer model and the pile-top overall stiffness were adjusted dynamically in the loading process. The calculated results of the approach were compared with FEM results and measured data to verify the effectiveness and reliability. The approach presented in this paper could not only be applied to analyze load transfer characteristics of super-long pile groups, but also it has important engineering significance to educe or replace some on-site test.
