Description
Summary:This report aims to research on what the current state of negotiation skills training and education in Singapore is. The authors felt that negotiation skills are essential life skills that everyone should possess. Through surveying students at public tertiary institutions and interviewing experts in the field of negotiation skills training, it was found that, although there was a tremendous improvement in the development of the negotiation skills training and education area, there is still a lack of awareness among many students. Further, tertiary institutions are not equipped with, or are not willing to devote, adequate resources to promote the benefits negotiation skills bring as well as to meet the rising demand for such modules by students who are aware of them. It is therefore recommended that the tertiary institutions increase publicity efforts to raise the awareness of negotiation skills training and education and the benefits it brings.
