Basically, the SARs were introduced so that (as compared to the annual report (AR)) accounting information could be presented to users in a more readable format [Rezaee and Porter, 1988]. For our project, we were interested in determining the areas of the SAR where improvements to its usefulness could be made. Subsequently, we hope that we will be able to assist standard-setting bodies such as the Stock Exchange of Singapore and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore in establishing guidelines towards a more informative and useful SAR. To accomplish this, we surveyed 221 investors (or shareholders) who either make use of the SAR for their investment decision; who did not make use of the SAR for their investment decision but have access to the SAR; or who did not have access to the SAR. 2008-09-24T07:45:40Z 2008-09-24T07:45:40Z 1998 1998 Final Year Project (FYP) http://hdl.handle.net/10356/10609 Nanyang Technological University application/pdf
