Summary:The work contains all the paleo-anthropological and archaeological evidence related to the spread of human settlements and to the population dynamics in the territory of Acqui Terme (AL - Italy) between the Palaeolithic and the Bronze Age, by analyzing the issue also through the results of the research based on mitochondrial DNA. The paper is linked to the linguistic study of the Toponymy (Toponomastics) of this area of the ancient Liguria and is aimed at pointing out the relationships between the population dynamics and the naming process of the places in the prehistoric ages.
