Description
Summary:This paper is a philological and socio-linguistic study (in the field of Medieval Latin Philology and Linguistics) related to the historical reconstruction of the relationships in the management of a territory shared by some villages of Monferrato (Piedmont, North-Western Italy) between XIII and XIV centuries (in the study area of the recent renewed interest in the analysis of the structures of so-called 'comunia' in the Middle Ages and even in the Modern Age) that provides the first critical edition (that the Author developed and established) of the four medieval documents subject of the article. The paper is divided into a first part, eminently historical, in which the Author reconstructs the relations of the community by managing the villages of Monferrato involved in the exploitation of shared territories embraced by the events over the years analyzed, and a second part in which, for the first time, the Author returns philologically the text of the four documents taken in consideration, adding philological notes that constitute a critical apparatus.
