Summary:This study addresses that issue by examining the transparency level of local banks. A transparency model comprising of both quantitative and qualitative financial information disclosed in annual reports of local and foreign full licence banks is used in this study toderive a Transparency Score (TSCORE), which indicates the transparency level of a bank. This study also discusses factors contributing to confidence in local banks despite the regional financial crisis.
