Summary: | This study profiles the corporate governance structure of Singapore Airlines (SIA), a government linked company (GLC) known worldwide for its brand name and success. By conducting event studies on issues involving the governments’ influence and control on SIA, we attempt to understand how investors perceive and react to corporate governance issues involving the government. We find that there is some evidence to suggest that investors in the past may have perceived government involvement to be positive for SIA. |
