Description
Summary:Data from a travel survey conducted in Singapore provided the opportunity to examine the role of walking as a mode of travel in a highly urbanised environment. The survey captured all movements over distances longer than 100m by motorised as well as non-motorised modes. The data show that despite increasing affluence and motorisation, walking still plays a fundamentally important role in mobility in Singapore. Overall, 39% of all trips were completed using walking as the only mode.
