Description
Summary:Recently there has been an increasing interest in the development of optical sub-carrier multiplexing (SCM) systems. One of the limiting factors in high-capacity SCM systems is the wide bandwidth requirement of the optical receivers. In a conventional SCM systems, the optical receiver has to be able to receive all the subcarrier channels before the demodulation can be carried out. Because of the wide-band nature of the SCM signals , the optical receiver design is difficult. The requirement on the receiver has restricted the flexibility of SCM systems.
