Summary: | A new approach to support multiple QoS classes in IPv6 over ATM networks is proposed. We proposed to use the ' 111' reserved code in the PT field in combination with the CLP field in the ATM cell header to indicate that a multiple level priority classes are presented. According to their characteristics of loss and delay sensitivity, integrated traffics can be divided into several priority classes. The classes are determined by mapping the Priority field in IPv6 header into the ATM cell. |
