Summary: | Generation scheduling is to determine a commitment schedule for the generating units to
meet the forecast load demand at minimum Unit Commitment (UC) cost. The generation
schedule must ultimately satisfy a series of system and unit constraints, such as spinning
reserve requirement, minimum up and down time, ramp and transmission line limits.
Much attention has been attracted to this area because of cost reduction consideration.
Among the various applied mathematical algorithms, Lagrangian Relaxation emerged as
an effective method of solving the Unit Commitment problem especially for the largescale system. |
