Description
Summary:The World Wide Web (WWW) has become the most convenient way to access information on the Internet because the WWW browser integrates different network services into a common easily accessible user interface. These features are especially suited for accessing information of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. This project discusses the development of a Web-based SCADA display system based on the object-oriented programming and the Client/Server architecture. Through the Web browser, the user can view the real-time data superimposed on one-line diagrams that are generated automatically using the VLSI’s placement and routing algorithms. In addition, the user can also control the operation of the substation at the server site. Such a system provides a cost-saving alternative to facilitate the display/access of the real-time data at both the client and server sites.
