Summary: | Hydroxyapatite (HA) has been applied as a coatings on Ti-6A1-4V biomedical implants to accelerate osteogenesis because of its bioactive nature. Plasma spraying was widely used to coat the HA as it has been proved to be highly effective. This project investigated the mechanical properties of plasma sprayed HA coatings using indentation techniques on particle size range of 20-45 micrometres , 45-75 micrometres and 75-125 micrometres. The effect of the stand-off distances at 10 cm, 12 cm and 14 cm were also investigated. |
