Summary: | The ageing demographics of Singapore has led to added stress on the society to provide for its greying population. To mitigate the effects of an ageing society, active ageing has been encouraged actively by the government. Due to strong connections between a healthy diet and healthy living, this project is primarily focused on empowering the elderly in our society to obtain greater control of their dietary consumption. While there have been many diet tracking applications in the market, none are catered specially to the elderly. This project aims to provide the elderly in our society the capability to keep track of their nutrient intake through an Android application and hence, adjust their diet towards a healthier lifestyle. With a simple to use interface and local food choices like Ayam Penyat within the app’s database, the application is specially crafted for local context. The application integrates image classification capabilities to enable the user to identify their food through images taken from their own Android phone. It also includes functionalities that stores, analyze and display important information to the user in an intuitive manner. During the development of the project, android studio, colab, python and keras were utilized. |
