To keep up with the increasingly vast amount of information being process, high powered computers are introduced into data centre. The two main energy consumers used in the data centre are the computing systems as well as the cooling system. In order to make the cooling system more efficient, we must understand what the main factors are affecting the cooling systems. Within Nanyang Technological University, there is an ongoing project to study the tropical data centre. Various sensors have been deployed into an existing data centre and the data gathered will be used to create a predictive model of the energy consumption.
