仅仅建国55年的新加坡已经发行四款流通钞票及两款建国纪念钞。这41张钞票又带有什么图像及主题呢？哪些钞票图像频繁出现？新加坡政府为何选择这些钞票图像？谁是钞票图像要传输信息的对象？基本上，官方只详细解释总统肖像系列及建国50周年纪念钞的钞票图像。其余四款钞票图像的资料却寥寥无几。为此，本文试图解析每张钞票图像想表达的信息。本文将通过串联新加坡历史及钞票图像，从而理解政府如何利用钞票图像建构国家认同，并且解答以上的问题。本文首先将区分流通钞票及纪念钞为两篇篇章。然后，本文会个别分析这些钞票图像，从中理解钞票图像在不同时期的转变。最后，结语将会结合两者，从中分析出政府最频繁使用的钞票图像。 55 years since the founding, Singapore has issued four circulating banknotes series and two commemorative banknotes series. The issues to be discussed include the images and themes of these 41 banknotes, the frequency of appearance of the banknote images, the reason why the Singapore government chose these banknote images and the target audience of the meaning behind the images on the banknote. The issuing organization only provided reasons for the images of the Portrait series and the SG50 commemorative notes while information on the remaining four series of banknote images remains scarce. Consequently, this thesis analyzes the information behind each banknote image. It will connect Singapore's history with the banknote images to understand how the government used these banknote images to build a national identity and answer the issues above. First, this thesis is separated into 2 major parts, the circulating banknotes and commemorative banknotes. Next, this thesis analyzes the banknote images individually to understand the transformation of banknote images in different periods. Finally, the conclusion combines the two to identify the most frequently used banknote images.
