以现今的交友软体来探讨新加坡南大学生的“性爱观” = A study on dating apps and its relation to Nanyang Technological University students’ views on sex and love

随着科技越来越发达，人们不单单通过传统的相亲公司来寻找另一半，反而也通过交友网站或现今十分盛行的交友软体（Dating Applications)。交友软体的多功能形态让用户的使用动机不限于寻找恋情对象。除了具有寻找伴侣的动机，有的或许只是为了交朋友，甚至有的想从中“约炮”（Hook Up），在只是为了满足肉欲的情况下与别人进行性行为。由此可见，交友软体与“性爱观”形成了密不可分的关系。笔者会先以自身用交友软体的经历与此看法作为背景，接着并论述研究方法、过程与结果，并且做出分析。本研究将通过对20名使用过交友软体的新加坡南洋理工大学生进行问卷调查，从中分析这些用户在“性爱观”的笼罩下的动机、行为、态度与看法。这些受访者分别为10位男性与10位女性，并且都是异性恋者。他们的年龄都介于21岁到28岁，并且都是华人。多数都是新加坡国籍，少数的几位则是马来西亚国籍和印尼国籍。不但比较两性在观念上的差异，笔者也将挖掘这些差异与社会因素的关系，从中了解背后的原因。社会因素就包括了社会所具有的刻板印象或对性别的双重标准等。With the advancements in technology, people do not simply just seek for a relationship partner via traditional match-making companies, they also make use of other platforms such as online dating sites and even dating apps(also known as Dating Applications)that are currently in trend. The multi-features of dating apps pave the way for users to not only limit their motiveto merelyfinding a relationship partner. In fact, other than the mentioned motive, other motives of theirs can be “to make friends” or even engage in casual sex with others. Thus, it is evident that dating apps and people’s views onlove and sex have an inseparable connection. The author will first employ his own experiences of using dating apps and his views on them as a background, next discusseson the research’s method, process and outcome that comes with an analysis. The research consists of 20 participants who are students of Nanyang Technological University. They are asked tofill in a questionnaire to indicate their motive, actions, attitude and views with regard to love and sex attained via dating apps. The 20 participants are made up of 10 males and 10 females who are all heterosexual. Their age ranges from 21 to 28, in which all of them are Chinese and most of them are Singaporean. Only a few are of Malaysia and Indonesia nationality. Other than comparing the differences in mindsets of the two different sexes, the author will also work on the connection between the differences and social factors to reveal the reasons for the former to occur. Some social factors include social stereotypes and the double standards on the two sexes.
