Some are more obvious and take the front of the stage when it comes to signs and displays of progress in a society, such as fiscal development to ensure that a society is prospering economically, or shifts in our governmental constitutions that help to establish and provide political stability for the society. However, some factors are less explored and are sometimes not regarded as a primary measure of a society’s progress. In this paper, I will explore the cultural side of society and how it also has its effects on a community and even on other factors as well, such as economic and socio-political factors. Specifically, I will be exploring the street dance scene in Singapore and how it has evolved over the years, and how dance in Singapore has become more prevalent especially in the past decade or two.
