Description
Summary:It is known that children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) have a different rate of development compared to typically developing children. This is largely due to how ASD affects attention and interaction. The purpose of this study is to improve the teaching methods to children with ASD to allow them to develop the required skills for them to be able to interact with their environment like typical developing children. This is done through an interaction mobile application where the children can experience possible scenarios in various locations and understand the possible actions they can perform. Volunteers were given the application to try after which they gave their feedback on the application. Recommendations for the application improvement include a more personalized setting for each child, possible immediate feedback after actions chosen and ease of accessing the completed choices for teachers to review the children’s progress.
