In the current age, digital video technologies are prevalent everywhere. Advances in the
technology has made it increasingly easy to record and upload videos through smartphones at
any given time and location.
Footage from CCTVs and similar surveillance systems are traditionally used to aid in investigating
crimes and incidents. However, this sometimes poses multiple challenges due to insufficient
coverage from said surveillance systems. Technology advances can be leveraged to deal with
such challenges.
This report presents the development of an Android application called GeoRecord, and a web
application called GeoVid. GeoRecord can record videos with their essential geotagging
information captured and upload them to GeoVid. GeoVid will then serve as a platform that
visualizes the geotagging information of those videos. |
