It is important in evaluating the quality of the undergraduate projects. However, currently students are only graded based on the functionality of their assignments but not the quality of their code. The quality of their code remains unknown, hence there is an urgent need to develop a Code Quality Assessment Tool (CQAT) application. This project is to develop the CQAT application. To start on this project, CQATs available online are examined in detail. In addition, previous research on various software quality metrics are examined. Using information and knowledge learnt from the CQATs online and researches, a Goal Question Metric (GQM) was developed for this project. A previous student’s work in Software Quality Assessment Tool was examined in detail. It is found that the tool that was developed is able to meet the GQM set in this project. Hence by building on his work, an application was developed in both .jar and .exe formats. Performance testing are then done on the application to ensure stability and accuracy of the application. The results produced by the application are then analysed and explained in detail in this report.
