Standard occupancy detection in the market now are only useful during certain conditions
and may cause privacy concerns. Using Wi-Fi packets that can provide Channel State
Information (CSI), we can determine the environmental conditions during packet
transmission. The CSI amplitude is impacted by the movement of objects and people in the surrounding
environment of the transmitter and receiver. As such, CSI captures the wireless
characteristics of the nearby environment. This makes it possible to detect any changes to
the occupancy and movement in a room. The purpose of this report is to determine the accuracy of the MATLAB algorithm used to detect movement in the environment. |
