Data collection and analysis for air pollutants (NO2,PM2.5) in Hong Kong
Air pollution is a major risk to human beings around the world. However, despite the risk that it poses, air pollution is still contributed by human activities. Particulate Matter 2.5 (PM2.5) and Nitrogen Oxide (NO2) are common atmospheric pollutants that are being produced by human activities such...

However, despite the risk that it poses, air pollution is still contributed by human activities. Particulate Matter 2.5 (PM2.5) and Nitrogen Oxide (NO2) are common atmospheric pollutants that are being produced by human activities such as road traffic and burning of fossil fuels. In Hong Kong, power plants and road traffic are the major source of air pollution. Especially with the increase number in private car owners in Hong Kong, the roads located near the Central Business district gets heavily congested and therefore increases the pollution levels immensely. This report describes the process of analysis on the PM2.5 and NO2 emissions in Hong Kong. Using Phyton programming to extract data from the Environmental Protection Department website, a database will be created for the PM2.5 and NO2 emission levels. This analysis is done in hopes of bringing awareness on the severity of this environmental hazard.
