Description
Summary:Conventional methods use the Dedicated Outdoor Air System (DOAS) to precool the air and remove moisture in filtered outdoor air. This processed cool air is then moved into an Air Handling Unit (AHU) for balancing the load. Such method of air quality control will result in high cost of operation. Air T&D, a company based in Singapore, part of Nanyang Technological University (NTU) which focuses research of Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV). Have come up with a new prototype, the Dual Cycle Air Dehumidification System (DCADS) to counter the energy efficiency problem faced by conventional HVAC systems such as the DOAS and AHU. The experiments will be conducted on the DCADS to ensure that the DCADS is safe for usage and offer better energy savings for manufacturing companies and Data Centers. It will also benefit the health of the users as dryer air will reduce the chance of microbial growth within the ACMV equipment.
