Summary: | Diabetes is one of the world’s highest progressing chronic diseases, taking a toll on a large population of many countries. This requires a need for a point of care biosensor to allow early detection and mitigation of the disease. This project aims to use conjugated polymer, polythiophene (PT) for colorimetric detection of 8-OHdG an oxidative stress biomarker. Conjugated polymers are effective optical transducers that yield two different optical signals in the presence and absence of markers, enabling colorimetric detection of the liquid based assay and thus providing a rapid detection method for devices. |
