In this study, conventional rectifiers were reviewed and compared against the proposed active rectifier. The design principle and the determination of circuit parameters were discussed in detail. Improvements of the designs were incorporated based on the work foundation of previous students. The designed rectifier was assessed with various criterions including Voltage/Power Conversion Efficiency, Output DC Voltage Stability etc. All the designed circuitries were built and simulated with Global Foundaries 0.18 um technology using Cadence. The overall circuit provides a maximum Power Conversion Efficiency of 95.00%, given to be operated under a 125k HZ sinusoidal AC signal with a 2.2 V peak voltage.
