Analysis of air pollutant data for Singapore (NO2 and PM2.5)

Air is an essential component for life on Earth, which makes the quality of air a pertinent issue. Air of good quality is as vital as food and water in sustaining life on Earth, lacking which would result in grave harm to the planet and everything that lives on it. Following the industrial revolutio...

Air of good quality is as vital as food and water in sustaining life on Earth, lacking which would result in grave harm to the planet and everything that lives on it. Following the industrial revolution in the 19th and 20th century, air pollution has become one of the major concerns across the globe and Singapore is no exception. With the increase in contributions from industrial operations and the growth of vehicular usage, Singapore is not spared from the harmful effects of air pollution. Therefore, the study of long-term trends of air pollution is crucial for guiding solutions such as the creation of new policies to lower the pollution levels in Singapore. This project aims to study the current trends of air pollutants of NO2 and PM2.5 and propose possible solutions that Singapore can employ to lower the pollution levels to a safe level in which its citizens can live healthily. This is done by collecting data from the website of the National Environmental Agency (NEA). With this data, the author will be using Python programming and its extension packages to visualize the data. The author will then analyze the data.
