QR code registration and attendance system brings a convenient, efficient and user friendly platform for EEE event organizers and students in NTU. QR code is known as a quick response code which is invented by Denso Wave from Japan. The content of QR code can be easily retrieved by smartphone camera. Hence efficiency of every system can be increased by adding a QR code system in the system. The QR code registration and attendance system allows students to search for those events that will be held in NTU and register for joining any events through an event registration website. Once an event registration form from the event registration website has been submitted by a student, a QR code will be received by the student through a school email. On the day of the event, the student can use that QR code to take the attendance of the event without any long queue. Event helper will be using a QR code scanner phone app to scan the QR code from the student. Once the QR code is scanned, the attendance of the student will be taken. Moreover, the event registration website also allows event organizers to register for using the QR code registration and attendance system for their events. The aim of this system is to improve the current event attendance taking system in NTU. Currently, students take their attendance for every event in school by using their matriculation cards with card readers. For this system, matriculation cards are replaced by QR codes and card readers are replaced by a QR code scanner app.
