A microstrip patch antenna design

The antenna is a transducer which transforms the guided traveling wave propagating over a transmission line into the electromagnetic wave propagating in the unbounded medium, usually free space, or vice versa. The part of the radio apparatus used to receive or transmit electromagnetic waves. In the...

The part of the radio apparatus used to receive or transmit electromagnetic waves. In the engineering systems such as radio communication, radio, radar, television, navigation, electronic countermeasures, radio astronomy, and remote sensing, which using electromagnetic waves to transmit information, rely on antennas. In addition, in the use of electromagnetic waves to transmit energy, non-signal energy radiation also requires an antenna. General antennas have reversibility, that is, the same pair of antennas can be used as both transmitting antenna and receiving antenna. The basic characteristic parameters of the same antenna as receiving or transmitting are the same. For this project, we are focusing on the microstrip antenna. [1] Microstrip antenna is on a thin substrate of the medium, one side is attached with a thin metal layer as the graft floor, and the other side is made into a metal patch of a certain shape by photoetching method. The antenna is fed by a microstrip line or coaxial probe. There are two kinds of microstrip antenna: (1) the patch shape is a thin strip, is the microstrip antenna. (2) the patch is an area unit, it is a microstrip antenna. If a slot is carved out of the connection floor, and a microstrip line is printed on the other side of the dielectric substrate, the slot feed will constitute a microstrip slot antenna.
