Juggling full-time employment in the day and attending classes in the evenings, these working students scuttle around between destinations and often turn to online resources for updates and information. Precious time spent searching for specific information through pages of unrelated information can be a tedious, frustrating and demoralising process. In this project, the development of the web application, UniFocus, aims to provide a focused online support and resource for part-time EEE freshmen. Apart from guiding these adults to relatable and usable information, the web application provides a platform for part-time students to plan out degree modules across the duration of their study in advance to fit their work and life responsibilities. This involvement raises students’ awareness of the long-term degree curriculum and allows them to be better prepared by being involved in planning their degree route.
