Summary: | One of the most common methods to convert sunlight into usable electrical or thermal energy is through photovoltaic solar panels or mainly known as photovoltaic (PV) system. This PV system could generate electricity in a renewable and clean manner. Making use of the abundant energy source from the sun, the PV system can generate electricity without the production of harmful carbon dioxide emissions unlike those conventional energy sources which causes air pollution. Solar energy is also used to power up many applications as well as charging of rechargeable batteries. To utilise the solar energy, incorporating the solar energy system to charge a battery as well as powering up unmanned ground vehicle can be done. In this project, the main goal is to build a solar-powered robotic car, integrating it with a solar energy system to generate electricity to charge a Lithium Ion Battery which in turn will power up a DC motor. With the aid of an established wireless communication between an Arduino microcontroller and a smartphone application, the movement of the robotic car can be controlled. |
