Summary: | With its popularity increases constantly since its first appearing in Singapore in 2012, the escape has provided a platform for teams to enhance teamwork and communication skill. The concept of a live action escape room was first initiated from Kyoto, Japan in 2007, SCRAP. It is a team base challenge for a group of individuals to solve a riddle within a specific time frame. This project aims to create an escape room that is portable, automated, educational and interactive. As compared to the traditional game play, the escape room created with stages emphasizing on the main factors of portability, automation and education. The report will start out with the introduction of the research papers on how escape rooms are used as a tool for education. Subsequently, the concept of building an escape room will be established with the elaboration of electrical components used to build the games. The concept of portability and automation is established through small light weight components that are connected through wireless communication. The games made out of Arduino will be programmed to serve multiple modes of game play. This allows for the game to be played multiple times with different methods of playing, ensuring the reusability of game. The storyline for the game will be shown with illustrative images of hints and game stations. The game stations will end off with the elaboration of technical concepts used to develop the game. The result of the software, programming and mechanical will be explained and the learning points from this project will be shown. |
