However, a large group of university freshmen are facing a series of transitional problems during their transition. Transitional problems are mainly focused on academic challenges and social issues. This project aims to develop an android application, named Transition to university provides students with both exposure and opportunities. For example, students can achieve higher order of cognitive skills, build up social networks and attain professional qualifications. However, a large group of university freshmen are facing a series of transitional problems during their transition. Transitional problems are mainly focused on academic challenges and social issues. This project aims to develop an android application, named EEEBuddy, to counter transitional problems faced by students. This application involves implementation of the senior buddy system and study buddy system to help university freshmen in a successful transition. The senior buddy system allows freshmen to form buddy relationships with senior buddies, senior buddies will provide freshmen with necessary assistance during their transition year. The study buddy system allows students to create and join study events online and form actual study groups offline. Study tracking system is developed to complement the study buddy system. Chat function is implemented to facilitate communication among students. Chatbot is integrated into the application to provide students with school information at their fingertips. Android Studio, the integrated development environment, is used to develop the App. The main programming language used in this project is Java, XML and JavaScript. Google Firebase is used for data storage and management, as well as development of other functionalities. As a result, this application is able to support various tasks, such as handling friend requests, forming studying groups, tracking study activities, posting comments, initiating private and group chat activities, interacting with chatbot, etc. Overall, this application is supported with a substantial set of functionalities to run properly and independently.
