The latter was designed to stimulate interest and student involvement in the learning process, which comprised of group activities. The results confirmed that the EMS students learned better when their interests were stimulated and when involvement in the learning process was allowed for through group activities. The findings have important implications not only for classroom teachers, but also policymakers, school administrators, curriculum specialists and textbook writers.
