Description
Summary:Rats infestation has always been a persistent problem not only in developing countries, but also in developed countries. Various measures mainly in the aspects of prevention and control are carried out to purge the survival of rats. However, the level of efficacy on the establishment of burrow networks might not always be of satisfactory due to the current limitations. As such, this project aims to bring the analysis of rat infestation to another level by installing a wearable package onto a rat and releasing it back to the environment. Thereafter, data such as video footage and location of the rat would be wirelessly transmitted to the operators for further actions. Components including the Raspberry Pi, various sensors and GPS module would be utilised in this project, with key motivations of identifying of the exact location of burrow by the means of intelligent data. The subsequent deployment of rat management techniques to eradicate the harbourage, and removal of food sources would be a more comprehensive approach to this unabating problem.
