Such situations can be observed happening during the peak hours where queues are lengthy, there are prolonged boarding times coupled with the limit capacity of each transport. There are three types of transport systems within NTU which make use of busses. The first would be the campus bus within NTU, busses are split into different lines with varying routes circling internally within the school. The second type is the campus rider that mainly transports passengers between NTU and the nearest Pioneer MRT Station. The last type is the Public SBS Transit Bus Services 179 and 199. The objective of this study would be to investigate a method to introduce Electric Scooters (E-Scooters) to NTU alongside the current transport system to ease the strain within the system itself. The introduction of E-Scooters would also allow passengers to move to their desired location without the need to wait for busses to arrive and could reduce the time required to travel. The system would also serve to reduce the number of busses and trips that has to be done each day. This study would first use a survey to understand the travel patterns of people moving within the school. With this data, this study would then utilize a software simulation system to examine the effectiveness of the proposed system. Through analysing the results, this study would present data findings and propose an adequate number of scooters to be introduced to NTU in conjunction with the current transport system.
