Summary: | Nowadays, science and technology has largely dominated our lives, especially in this era that people put much more attentions to it. The modern technology has created a great variety of electronic products to improve our daily lives. As for the youth and teenagers, they are using the electronic products much more than ever, and the question we need to ask is whether they understand the basic principles and the theories behind these wonderful electronics? Meanwhile, Engineering has contributed many favourable aspects such as economic growth, advanced in medical care, national security system and source management. People who are equipped with engineering skills and knowledge, often has a better standing in the society. However, the youth and teenagers have been deeply attracted to the Internet and online communications, paying less attentions to the electronic aspects. The issue on how to improve on engineering appreciation, and to enthuse the teenagers to be more involved in Engineering is truly a big problem. Thus, Arduino is introduced in this Final Year Project. Arduino is an open source microcontroller board that it links the hardware and software via upload sketches. People can use Arduino to create many interesting and fantastic mini projects which are quite get close to our daily lives to let the teenagers to involve, learn and hand on during workshop or when stay at home. Through the hands-on Arduino mini projects, teenagers will be equipped with engineering skills as well as basic programming language skills with confidence and creativity. |
