Summary: | This project will be investigating the use of Augmented Reality (AR) to enhance current implementation of Digital Twinning in Industry 4.0. The motivation is to address existing gaps in effective Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) between an industrial robot arm and its user to improve work efficiency and safety. By leveraging the Epson Moverio BT-35E Smart Glasses as a head-mounted display for AR implementation, an application developed to enable robot arm operation through voice-commands will require calibration of relevant parameters to effect accurate Digital Twinning which is of importance in for ensuring the effective transfer of intention from the robot arm to the user. A modular calibration functionality component will hence be developed to enhance Digital Twinning implementation for Industry 4.0 use cases. It is envisioned for this component to be a foundation for advancements in HRI through AR-enabled Digital Twinning. |
