Description
Summary:Headphones are essential devices of modern life. A high-level environmental noise prevents full usage of headphones and makes the target sound (music or speech) unpleasant and hardly audible. Three areas are combined to get a wider view of the current issues and to find solutions in the integration and development of combined approaches from different algorithms. An active noise control (ANC) algorithm is the first area. The second research area is about the psychoacoustic analysis. The third research area is on the development of binaural algorithms to provide more natural processing and sound perception This thesis proposes a new integrated noise reduction and sound enhancement system for hearing devices. Real-time experimental results prove the advantages of the proposed integrated noise reduction system for hearing devices. Moreover, the quality of the target audio signal is improved. This statement is based on objective and subjective psychoacoustic evaluations.
