The use of computer-based applications has exponentially increased the rate of production among office workers, while the communication tools over the World Wide Web has made remote collaborations simple to achieve. In most schools of Nanyang Technological University (NTU), however, the timetable planning and scheduling work are still done physically in the office. To arrive at a solution, a new web-based application needs to be developed. The existing systems, which are currently deployed at various schools, are outdated and lack of maintenance. Other related works focused on building a local application that can be further researched and enhanced to provide a broader scope for this project. By utilizing industry-proven web development frameworks and tools, this project aims at building a web-based application that allows course coordinators from NTU to work remotely for their timetable planning needs. On top of all basic timetable planning requirements, the project extends beyond the School of Computer Science and Engineering by featuring a comprehensive Access Management System and multiple well-designed databases that can be utilized by all schools across the university. This project delivers a complete web application that accomplishes all requirements as described. Areas for future improvements could include better protection for data security in the application. Broader collaboration with different schools is also expected in the future.
